Broken Bridges
Locks broken,
wandering love reaching,
words unspoken,
shattered promises,
Love that should have never crossed.
A bridge of our doing,
lies upon the affection,
pulling our devotion,
into each other’s misdoing.
The lies that flooded under our bridge,
of the fragile love,
falling into plastic pleas,
That was left unrecognized.
With every next step,
I lead us to a broken divide,
of fractured love.
Never to pass,
never to cross again.
We fell hard,
upon each other,
finding only the lost soul,
of our last shadows.
Each step,
taken,
closer upon our demise,
leads further,
from the other.
Love forgotten.
I have left us on a broken bridge,
to never pass,
for past clouds,
rain on the fickle matters of our hearts.
My dire, sorrowful emotions,
never wants another,
other than you.
To only bridge across your warm embrace,
to once again fall into your profound loving grace.
